New Nature Center
If you have not had a chance to visit Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center lately. The New Nature Center is really coming along. Here Kathy Lande & Susan Scherer are busy staining the outside of the building. We have had some perfect fall days to get this project done before the leaves drop and the weather gets to cold.
The Nature Center will have 6 different exhibits: Water, Weather, Mammals, Birds, Plants and Insects. Visitors to the Nature Center will discover some of the plants and animals that share their habitat on the Gunflint Trail. We want to get visitors – especially younger visitors – comfortable with exploring nature, getting dirty and having fun.
Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary to Holly Ambrose & Chip Landmesser. Holly is the daughter of Benny Ambrose, they were married in 1975 up at her father’s place up off of Saganaga Lake past American Point. They told me the story of how Chip and his family stayed at Chik-Wauk Resort before the wedding and Holly and her family were up at Benny’s getting everything ready for the wedding. I am glad they stopped in and shared such a special memory with me. They both look so youthful.
Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center is open for the season until October 18 open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. Our season ending sale is on in the gift shop. Some items are marked down 50% off.
