Happy Spring Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center lovers! The loons are back in the Chik-Wauk bay and early season wildflowers are starting to emerge. But before we open for the season this weekend, we could use some help!
Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center needs our supporters to vote for us in order to make sure we’re included on a national map.
What map? The National Geographic Society is currently working with local organizations, businesses and residents to map the best of the Heart of the Continent. Using public recommendations, they will produce a Geotourism website and mobile app to celebrate what is most distinctive about the Heart of the Continent region, which includes the lakes, forests and communities on the Minnesota/Ontario border.
The National Geographic Society is currently accepting nominations and seeking public votes in order to determine what should be included on the map. Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center has been nominated and we are asking our supporters to vote for us to help show the importance of Chik-Wauk to area tourism and history.
