Chik-Wauk Naturalist Schedule
Summer is officially here and things are heating up at Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center. Last Tuesday, the U.S. Forest Service kicked off the 2013 Summer Naturalist Schedule with one of their “Becoming a Boundary Waters Family” presentations. They’ll be back for the next 9 Tuesdays to do a presentation on a different natural history topic each week. Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 25 at 3 p.m. join U.S. Forest Service naturalist Steve Robertsen for an interpretive hike focused on the wildflowers blooming along the nature trails at Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center. Free and family friendly. The forest is in full bloom at the moment and pink moccasin flowers can be found on both the Tamarack Alley and Moccasin Lane hiking trails on the Chik-Wauk grounds so it should be a beautiful and fascinating hike.
These presentations from the U.S. Forest Service are just one part of a busy summer schedule of public programming at Chik-Wauk. Be sure to check out the full 2013 Events Calendar to discover everything that’s happening at the museum this summer.
